Position: Teacher/Tutor/Assessor/Skills Coach

Reports to: Operations Manager

General Purpose description

To plan, organise and deliver courses in a learning environment that guides and encourages learners to develop and fulfil their potential.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

• plan, prepare and deliver training activities that facilitates active learning experiences
• develop schemes of work and lesson plans with clear objectives that will make an impact on learning
• provide and develop a variety of learning materials and resources
• identify and select different teaching resources and methods to meet learners’ varying needs
• use relevant technology to support instruction
• observe and evaluate learner’s performance and development
• assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments
• provide appropriate individualised feedback to learners
• encourage and monitor the progress of individual learners
• maintain accurate and complete records of learners’ progress and development and provide regular reports
• update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by funders
• manage learner behaviour apply appropriate disciplinary measures where necessary
• perform certain pastoral duties when needed
• participate in meetings
• communicate necessary information regularly to learners and managers regarding learner progress and learner needs
• keep up to date with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activitie

Education

Essential

• Level 3 Award in Education and Training
• Higher qualification than the one teaching
• Subject competence and certification for qualifications delivered

Desirable

· Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training

· Level 3 Emergency First Aid in the Workplace

· Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution

Experience

· Experience of classroom delivery or assessing within FE

· Experience of online delivery within FE

· Knowledge of Safeguarding, Prevent and British Fundamental Values

Salary

22k to 28k dependent on experience
