Signing up for a course

Online course FAQ

You can email us at action@thetrainingbrokers.co.uk or phone us on 0161 465 9844 and we can sign you up remotely. You can call into our head office in Swinton (M27 6AD) and speak to one of our team about our courses on offer.

Completing your course will open a lot of doors for you in life; this will include current work, future employment, or advanced qualifications. If you did not want to complete your course, we are happy to meet and discuss the options available to you. We find that our students complete their studies with a positive attitude.

Great! We can support you through the interview process and ensure you are fully prepared. As stated above, we are happy to meet and discuss the options available to you.

Some courses do have multiple qualifications within them. However, most of these qualifications are also available as a stand-alone course. Ask us about a course that you are interested in.

Yes, you can, for classroom delivery, your employer may agree to be flexible with your working hours so you can attend the course. For online courses, you can study these at a time to suit you.

Our only age limits are 19 years to 65 years of age.

If all your enrolment has been completed and you have made a good start on your course, then no, you would not need to pay to complete the course.

No, most of our courses equate to one day a week study.

Yes, some of our delivery programs do combine more than one qualification within the course. Again, check with your tutor prior to starting to ensure that the courses you wish to do don’t clash with one another in relation to scheduling.

Our Training Centres

We are based in Swinton, Greater Manchester and we deliver courses throughout the Lancashire area.

Our Classroom delivery courses are based within Lancashire.

These vary from cohort to cohort. We travel to the demand of the learners. So if a large number of people in the Burnley area wanted to do a course, we would hire a community venue in Burnley.

Areas that we have delivered in include: Blackburn, Burnley, Accrington, Nelson, Haslingden, Skelmersdale, Preston, Eccles, Bury, Bolton, Sale, Salford, Radcliffe, and Blackley.

For fully funded courses you need to reside in Lancashire, however, for self-funded courses, it does not matter where you live.

Both! We have courses online and in the classroom.

Yes, you can access our online courses at a time to suit you.

All our courses follow the set criteria from the awarding body.

This will depend on the level of the course. Your tutor will discuss this with you when you enrol.

Online courses can be done at any time to suit you. A lot of our learners fit their studies around their working hours and home life by using online learning.

Any device that connects to the internet, such as a tablet, desktop or laptop.

Course material is available on Microsoft Teams. Material is also available as a downloadable word / PDF document and PowerPoint resources, including video content.

Consider your parent groups and your PTFA group. We can train these to help them support your school.

Yes. Our support work in schools (SWIS) can help them to develop the knowledge and competence to do support work within your school.

We have close links throughout the community as well as employers, to create bespoke training courses. Our bespoke training covers a broad spectrum of courses relating to the following topics: · Health and social, including end of life care · Education sector · Health and safety · Personal development, behaviour. Contact us to see if we can help you, as there are many other topics to meet the specific individual needs of employers in the differing sectors.

Yes, we can talk to you about your current achievements and your aspirations and discuss which options you may be interested in.

No, we are an independent training provider. We receive government funding to deliver our courses.

All our courses follow the set criteria from the awarding body and are accredited by UK government-recognised awarding bodies. These include TQUK, NOCN and NCFE with whom we work closely to ensure our existing courses and all new ones, meet approved standards of excellence, and are certified as such. TQUK, NCFE and NOCN are national awarding body organisations that design, develops, and certifies nationally recognised qualifications and awards.

We have courses lasting from Five weeks to Nine weeks.

The majority of our courses start at 9:30 am and finish at 3 pm. We are planning some courses in the evenings so please keep in touch to find out more. Online courses can be done at any time to suit you. A lot of our learners fit their studies around their working hours and home life by using online learning materials.

This varies from course to course; some courses have more knowledge-based questions to complete which involves more writing. You can check with your tutor prior to enrolment how much writing will be involved.

No, all our courses are in English.

Most qualifications have a difficulty level, the higher the level the more difficult the qualification is: · Level 1: It is ideal if you are new to a subject area, this level covers routine tasks and basic knowledge. · Level 2: builds upon knowledge and requires more in-depth answers to show what you have learned.

Yes, it can take up to eight weeks for your certificate to arrive; this is due to the internal and external verification procedures that take place before certification.

Yes, all our courses are awarded with a physical or e-certificate.

Anywhere! You can use them to progress onto further courses or you can use them to enhance your CV and increase your career aspirations.

No, the majority of our courses are knowledge-based, which means you do not need prior experience within the area. Therefore, these courses are perfect for those wishing to gain employment within a new field.

Full funding is available for Lancashire residents who are either in receipt of benefits, furloughed, or earning less than £25,000 per year.

We have a wide variety of courses; the cost depends on the length of the course and the level of qualification. Please contact us for further information.

Unfortunately not but payment plans are available to spread out the costs of courses.
