If you are concerned that you, a friend, or someone you know are being drawn into extremist activity, tell someone that you trust immediately, such as your tutor. Staying safe online

By following our simple guidelines, you can stay safe online.

  • Avoid the temptation and do not give out your personal information.
  • Never meet strangers you have met online.
  • Do not share passwords.
  • Never discuss topics of a sexual nature with strangers you have met online.
  • Always consider carefully what you post online. Your digital footprint can be accessed by potential future employers.
  • Avoid confrontation online and never post comments that could be deemed offensive, or are of a sexist, racist or derogatory nature.

 Rules whilst in our classes

You must abide by these rules at all times.

  • Observe all instructions to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Treat the buildings including fixtures and fittings and all furniture with respect and care.
  • Use all safety equipment and/or protective clothing as instructed, reporting any loss or defects to one of our team.
  • Do not misuse any equipment provided for health and safety purposes.
  • Report all hazards and accidents, or near-miss incidents to your tutor, whether anyone was injured or not.
  • Be familiar with the emergency evacuation procedure and the location of the fire alarm points and emergency equipment.
  • Obey the smoke-free, drugs and alcohol policies.

The Prevent duty

The Prevent duty is embedded within our safeguarding policies for the reporting of any concerns. Please refer to the section ‘Prevent’ for further information.

Radicalisation

Radicalisation is when an individual is led to support extremism and potentially acts of terrorism by an activist or third person.

Extremism

This is a set of beliefs that can lead to terrorism or extreme violence and is the opposition of the British Values which are our shared values that we promote.
