Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Distressed Behaviour in Children (RQF)

Who is this course suitable for?

This course is suitable for anyone who is looking for a career within child and young person development.

No experience within this work environment is required for this course. However,  learners should have a minimum of level two in
literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

What will I learn?

This course will cover the following topics:

  •  Awareness of distressed behaviour in children
  •  Principles of intervention when working with children who display distressed behaviour
  •  Distressed behaviour and mental health in children
  •  Distressed behaviour, sensory processing conditions and autism spectrum conditions in children
  •  Distressed behaviour and learning disabilities in children
  •  Legislation and guidance for an individual providing support to children displaying distressed behaviour

Cost

Fully funded eligibility criteria: 

  • Reside within the Lancashire area,
  • Age 19+
  • In receipt of state benefits or earning less than £25,000 per year.

Self-funded costs

  • Classroom-based: £400
